The 1000FB and 2500FB differs from the other FX spinning reels in terms of pounds of maximum drag, inches of line retrieve per crank, line capacity and weight. With its mostly graphite construction, this reel is lightweight. The Varispeed oscillation system of this reel utilizes an oval gear to provide a consistent spool speed. This results in an even line lay that provides improved castability. Your cast or retrieve will not result in a twisted line thanks to the Power Roller II feature, which consists of an oversized line roller. To cut back on retrieve wobble, the Shimano FX FB has the Dyna-Balance feature, which consists of a rotor counter balancing to enhance smoothness.
